Dab's Angel March 2007
Nathaniel Hendley

It is rare that we come across someone in HIV/AIDS care that is personable, knowledgeable, has a true passion and empathy for helping his clients, and continually gives of himself...

Whether Nathaniel is helpig with a camp for children affected and effected by HIV and AIDS or helping at the National Quilt Opening Ceremonies he works tirelessly in his efforts for HIV prevention.

Nathaniel also works his butt off to improve the quality of the people's lives under his care.

HERE NATHANIEL IS PICTURED WITH THE NEW DAB JR. THE AIDS BEAR THAT JUST BECAME AVAILABLE ALONG WITH 2 OTHER NEW DAB THE AIDS BEARS.

Nathaniel is also a loving son who takes remarkable care of his ailing mother. The care and tenderness with which he treats his mother shows the strong bond of love and family.

Nathaniel WAS... case manager with Lutheran Social Serivces Of Northeast Florida. Unfortunately for people in Fuval County with HIV and AIDS, organizations are having to cut back on personnel due to lack of funding from our local and national government officials and we're losing great case managers like Nathaniel along with other services or restrictions.

This at a time when HIV and AIDS are hitting minority populations... women... children... who have never had to work their way through the government public services to access life saving benefits in order to keep their children and themselves alive with quality health care.

It is a true honor for us to know Nathaniel. He's the type of man that would give you the shirt off his own back.

FOR ALL THOSE REASONS AND MANY MORE.... Nathaniel Hendley is DAB'S ANGEL for MARCH 2007.

UPDATE: To the luck of the HIV community, Nathaniel has started working with NFAN (Northeast Florida Aids Network. We welcome his return with open arms to HIV care and prevention in Jacksonville.
