Jeffrey Miller - December 2008
It is with great pleasure we announce Jeffrey Miller our Dab's Angel for December 2008.

Jeffrey has been very active for many years dealing with HIV and AIDS issues and helping those in the HIV+ community. He became involved in the HIV/AIDS community following the death of close friends: Kemp Pezza (1991) and Malcolm Melton Jr.(1994).

Even though his own HIV Status is negative, it is important to him to keep the fight going to end this pandemic. He has seen too many friends infected and affected to just stand back and do nothing. Jeffrey is very active in many areas of the community.

Some of his accomplishments:

Currently employed as a contractor at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida in Marketing. (also a former Blue Cross employee from Information Technology.)

Past President of brAIDS 2000-2002 (ARTreach Chair & Co-Chair 1999-2003)

Past Chapter Coordinator of the Northeast Florida Chapter of the NAMES Project AIDS Memorial Quilt (Currently the Chapter Treasurer)

Past member of the World AIDS Week Committee representing the Quilt

Started an HIV/AIDS awareness program and event at AT&T Universal Card and all AT&T locations in Jacksonville in 1994, when I was an employee.

Founding Chapter President of LEAGUE At AT&T (1993) - the employee resource group for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered AT&T employees

National Treasurer from 1996-1998 for LEAGUE

Deacon and active member at Riverside Baptist Church.

Now for some personal information about Jeffrey. His leisure activities include: good food and drinks with friends and family, movies, books (with a good plot), the beach (yes I have a tan line, be it small), volunteering in HIV/AIDS related events, working part-time with/for my friends at their micro-brewery (Bold City Brewery), traveling (I still need to see London and I want to go back to Italy), exercise and working around my 100 year old Riverside house (aka. The money pit)

For all these and many more reasons, we are proud to announce Jeffrey Miller as Dab's Angel for December 2008.
