Rev. Gary DeBusk
In Memorial - Rev. Gary DeBusk

Pastor Gary DeBusk, father, preacher, and community leader was born on September 13, 1953 passed away at the age of 54 on October 14, 2007.

Gary was born in Dayton, Kentucky and resided in Jacksonville for the past several years. Pastor DeBusk is survived by his sister, Shirley Strickmaker and sons, Matthew and Jonathan and by his surviving partner Michael Mundy and an extended family.

Rev. Gary DeBusk was a longtime supporter of the HIV community. He and his church, Christ Church of Peace, opened their arms to the Jacksonville community with an emergency food bank and allowing us to have the monthly NFAN HIV community luncheon at their location.

Recently, Rev. DeBusk left this world after a brief illness, but his spirit lives on in the lives he touched the world over with his faith, humor and compassion.

By an overwhelming margin online vote by users and members of our website, it is with sympathy and honor that we announce our Dab's Guardian Angel 2008 - Rev. Gary DeBusk.

On a personal note: Because of many talks with Rev. DeBusk, I decided to turn my life's work into an organization to better help, serve and protect people in the HIV community and our allies. Gary, you will always be my guardian angel. I look forward to when we meet again. Until then my friend,

Daddy Dab
